Mah Begum Atimadi

December 7, 2020

Mah Begum is one of the students who joined Pegah in its 3rd year of establishment, in 2016, as an eleventh grader. Before the start of the academic year, she had joined the Life Skills classes. Mah Begum was an active and hardworking girl with big dreams and ambition. Up until 10th grade, she had studied in low-quality schools. Thus, when she joined Pegah, she faced many academic struggles in the first few months. However with her personal grit and hard-work, she was able to become one of the top students in her class by the end of the academic year. In her first year at Pegah, Mah Begum had an active participation in school programs. She was a member of discipline committee and would always assist the students’ council with their event organization. In her 12th grade, she focused primarily on her academics and extracurricular activities outside school. She was a member of Afghan Volunteers Organization and Daikundi Youth Association. She had also participated in programs like Model United Nations, Coexistence, and Women Empowerment held by Loye Jierga.

At the end of her 12th grade, Mah Begum was able to receive the Espalo Scholarship in the United States to finish her high school.

We wish Mah Begum a future filled with prosperity and success!
