November 30, 2020

Spring 2019-2020 is one of the most unique eras in humans’ modern life. Maybe a few had ever anticipated and expected human being to feel this fragile against anything. However, the spread of COVID-19 left an undeniable impact on the whole world. In less than a month, the international market declined rapidly and almost thousands of companies and organizations got closed. Millions of people were forced to stay in the corners of their houses in order to stay away from catching such a dreadful virus. Despite, more than three million people across the global has caught the virus and are dealing with it.

Academic institutions were the first organizations that closed its doors to millions of children who were all ready to start the new academic year with a lot of joy and enthusiasm. Although at first, the remote learning proposed many challenges such as parents and students’ unfamiliarity with remote learning, lack of access to a proper internet connection, disorganized and weak electricity, and parents’ concerns due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, however Pegah’s faculties and staff still carried on their teaching plans. Along the way, families had access to different formats of remote learning. Lessons were presented in video, audio, and written formats. Families were also encouraged to use Telegram on top of Google Classroom in order to be in direct contact with teachers in case any problem or question rises. Families who could not access any format of remote learning, were invited to come to school with following proper social distancing guidelines and receive the school lessons in hard drives such as flashes and memory cards.

In less than a month, we were able to support more than 80% of our students through remote learning. Also, many students from other schools joined Pegah’s online program during the lock-down.
